Solo Legends Treasure Hunt #1

Official Rules

A contest of skill

This is a contest of skill. Winners are determined by total entry time, not by chance.

No proof of purchase is collected.

Who can enter

You must be at least 13. Players under 18, or under the age of majority where they live, need permission from a parent or legal guardian, who must also agree to these Rules. Void where prohibited. Excluded regions: everywhere outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. Only legal residents of the 50 states and DC may enter.

One entry per person, and one player per copy of the book. Each copy, whether bought or borrowed through Kindle Unlimited, may be used by one player only. This applies within a family too: if four people in one home play, the home needs four copies. A copy shared through Amazon Household’s Family Library is still one copy. Family members and others who share a home, device or internet connection may each play, with their own copy and their own account. Each player’s copy must be bought or borrowed no later than seven days after that player registers on this site. If one person uses more than one account, plays on someone else’s account, or shares one copy among several players, every account involved is disqualified.

Dates

Code entry opens October 18, 2026 at 12:00 AM EDT and closes August 31, 2027 at 11:59 PM EDT (Eastern time).

How to enter

Register an account on this site and verify the codes for all ten treasures before the deadline. New accounts must wait 3 days before entering their first code.

Entering codes

  • Choose a treasure and enter its code. Each code is checked against that treasure only.
  • After a correct code, you cannot enter another code for 24 hours.
  • After a wrong code, you cannot enter another code for 6 hours.
  • Every code entry requires a human check.

How winners are ranked

Your total entry time runs from your first code entry, right or wrong, to your tenth correct code entry, measured to the second by the site's server. Players who verify all ten treasures before the deadline are ranked from lowest total time to highest. The 10 lowest total times win.

If two or more players have the same total time, they share the prize money for the places they occupy equally. There is no tiebreaker.

Prizes

The prize pool is paid in cash to the winners. Starts at $250. Grows $1 per ebook purchase and $1 per 3,000 KENP (Kindle Unlimited pages read), with every page counted. The pool has no cap. The current amount is shown at the top of every page, with the date it was last updated. Purchases and pages read are counted from the start of the hunt through the deadline, across all Amazon stores, after returns.

The pool is divided by place:

  • 1st place: 40%
  • 2nd place: 25%
  • 3rd place: 15%
  • 4th place: 10%
  • 5th place: 5%
  • 6th place: 1%
  • 7th place: 1%
  • 8th place: 1%
  • 9th place: 1%
  • 10th place: 1%

Winners also receive the title Greatest Treasure Hunter and a permanent place in the Hall of Fame. Any physical awards will be announced before the deadline.

How winners are notified

Winners are notified on their Wall on this site. No email is sent. A winner must submit the claim form on their Wall within 60 days of the results being posted. A prize that is not claimed within that time is forfeited and will not be awarded.

Before paying a prize, we may ask a winner whose account is linked to other accounts to show their own copy (an Amazon order or Kindle Unlimited borrow), and we may ask the same of every account linked to it. Each order or borrow must be dated no later than seven days after that player registered on this site. If a linked player cannot show their own copy, the accounts involved may be disqualified under the one-player-per-copy rule.

Prizes will be paid by December 1, 2027.

Taxes

Prizes are claimed by and paid to an adult. If a winner is under 18, or under the age of majority where they live, their parent or legal guardian submits the claim form, provides the W-9 and receives the prize on the winner’s behalf. The W-9 must be in the claimant’s name. Forms 1099 are issued to the claimant as required by IRS reporting rules. Claimants are responsible for their own taxes.

Privacy

Public results use the display name each player picks, never real names or email addresses. The site never stores Social Security numbers; W-9s are collected privately. Your information is used to run the contest. Your email address is also used for news about Solo Legends books and future hunts, but only if you choose that when you register or on your Account page, where you can turn it off at any time. Choosing news has no effect on your entry.
